Health and Food Security for People Experiencing Homelessness
Project FoodChain mobilizes community networks to break down barriers to health and food security for people experiencing homelessness.
The Network Effect
At Project FoodChain, we believe in the multiplier effect of networks. Our programs bring together and mobilize diverse communities and players, creating collaborative impact far greater than could be achieved by our organization alone. Currently, our network includes 60 front-line agencies, 17 storage and delivery partners and corporate and community supporters from across Canada.

75% of Toronto’s unhoused residents are Black, Indigenous or other people of colour (BIPOC).
An estimated 50,000 Toronto residents experience hidden homelessness on any given night.
80% of drop-in centres surveyed report extraordinary, pandemic-level demand for food and supplies.
98% of shelter beds are full, forcing people to sleep outside.
